Our comprehensive assessment of this spacious balcony of a South Yarra mansion revealed that the existing waterproofing system failed, resulting in severe substructure damage, internal water leaks, and visible façade staining. The balcony needed to be replaced entirely.
We executed this project in collaboration with Michael Palmer and his team from Andermer, drawing from his extensive experience in construction and structural works. We safely demolished the existing balcony and removed the original steel beam. We installed a new custom steel beam before our team fully rebuilt the substructure and subfloor.
Our expertise in advanced waterproofing systems ensured the new balcony was thoroughly protected against future water ingress. We meticulously installed a high-performance membrane, followed by expert tiling. To further enhance durability, we incorporated a drip line detail to prevent water from running along the fascia and underfloor.
The finished balcony is structurally sound, visually striking, and built to withstand the elements for years.
